Greetings and blessings to the A.O.H. Church of God Body everywhere,

As we have embarked upon the new year, by the grace and mercy of God, we are looking forward to great things in 2021. The year 2020 was one that was filled with many challenges: great social unrest throughout the country, racial tensions at a high peak, riots, and vandalism in many cities. Thousands have been affected by the COVID-19 virus, the loss of jobs, incomes, and the closing of businesses. The sum of these things has given many the feeling of insecurity, hopelessness, and despair. However, I believe that the scripture gives up hope and a solution to the state of affairs in our country. 2 Chronicles 7:14 states that, “if my people, which are called by name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”. The Apostle Paul admonishes us in 1 Timothy 2:1-3 that, “…supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; …and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

Because of all of this, I feel led to declare February 2021 as our National Prayer Month. I am requesting that all members of the A.O.H. Church of God fast and pray every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the month of February. The theme for this prayer revival is “Lord Heal Our Land”. We will be praying in the spirit of unity for the following needs:

  • The salvation of souls

  • The spiritual growth of each member of the Body

  • The healing and recovery of our spirit, soul, mind, and body

  • The material needs and welfare of each family and our churches.

  • The healing of our Nation and its leadership

  • For our communities, cities, and states

  • For our Bishops, Overseers, Pastors, and all of those in ministry.

In addition, please pray for me, that the Lord will give me the wisdom and guidance to lead this great Church Body so that we can fulfill his purpose and plan for our church.

Yours in His service,

Bishop Lawrence E. Williams
